Tim Boulton, founder of Concerts Penzance, was interviewed today on Radio Cornwall by Tiffany Truscott. Tim was talking about the forthcoming season, and in particular about Thursday Evening's opening concert by the Australian String Quartet.
If you missed the interview you can listen again here (it will be available for the next 7 days). The interview starts about 29 minutes in, and lasts for about 13 minutes.
The Australian String Quartet are performing in Penzance this coming Thursday, 25 October, at St. John’s Hall in the first of this season’s exciting Concerts Penzance performances.
In what promises to be a very uplifting evening’s music making, at 7pm the quartet introduce the first piece in their programme, the 11th string quartet by Australia’s leading composer Peter Sculthorpe. Then at 7.30pm they perform their whole programme, starting with Sculthorpe’s quartet and Beethoven’s quartet op. 18 no.3 and after the interval, Dvorak’s glorious E flat quartet op.51.
Tickets are available in advance, in person, from either West Penwith Music or Mounts Bay Wine Company, or on the door 1 hour before the concert starts, priced at £10 per person, or £2 for the under 19s.
Please do join us for this wonderful quartet’s performance!
